Here is a webpage that talks about how mice that are deficient in vitamin e have a greater chance of developing problems with nitrofurantoin.

This is a quote from a Linus Pauling website where they talk about selenium. I have been reading on how they give animals selenium supplements to help prevent nitrofurantoin toxicity. This quote seems to support that. Selenium can be dangerous if too much is taken - I had a metal taste in my mouth that I think came from taking too much selenium so I only took it once a week. Can it help people recover from nitrofurantoin toxicity?

"Supplemental sodium selenite has been found to decrease toxicity from the antibiotic nitrofurantoin and the herbicide paraquat in animals (45)."
