I have taken macrobid one other time in my life in 2004, almost one year later I was given a script. for it for a UTI
In the morning I took one with my breakfast. Within 45 minutes I started to feel odd with horrible pains in my stomach. I had pain radiating from my hand up my arm, into my shoulder....... then within minutes I had throbbing pain in my throat and glands. I though I was having a gallbladder attack or something. Then I felt very shaky. I suspected the macrobid and took liquid benidryl.
I thought a shower might make me feel better as the pain was now in my back and my right hand went numb. I took my shower and felt progressivly worse. When I got out my daughter saw my eyes ( they were so red and swollen they looked as if they were bleeding) and the pain was so intence I could not move at all.
I dressed and layed on the couch, falling asleep immediatly. I awoke feeling horrid, light headed and had a horrible stabbing pain in my head. The pain in my stomach now consumed my whole abdomin and back.
I started to shake and I have electrical pains shooting up and down my arms and my legs.
My daguhter gathered up my smaller children and took me to the Drs. there I was running a fever and they gave me a shot, and something for the stomach pain.
I went home and the rest is a blur. I only remember the few times I woke I was so out of it. My fever clibmed to 102, my stomach continued to hurt and my head pounded with pain.
I remember getting up at 10 Pm and felt a bit better only now the pain was in my chest and in my glands again. I developed a cough.
As the week went on I suffered severe diareha and dehydration and the stabbing pain in my head along with the chest feelings and cough. Now, to this day it is 2 weeks and I just got over the diareha, so I though as it came back today. The stabbing pain did eventualy go away also. I still have a dry cough. I did get that odd pain in my right glad off and on and still do.
I feel as if it did some damage to my stomach, possibly my lungs? Its odd as the side effects seem to linger and are sparatic.
I have fibromyalgia and have other allergies to antibiotics too. 
That is my experiance so far.  |
